Chandigarh recently played host to one of the most exciting and meaningful events in the health and nutrition space — the 6th Eat Right Food Summit. Organized by FSSAI in partnership with the Food Safety Department, UT Chandigarh, and supported by Herbalife, the summit was a vibrant gathering of people who share one common goal: making healthy, safe, and informed food choices accessible to everyone.
The event, held at Hyatt Centric in Sector 17, brought together government officials, health experts, industry leaders, and community champions. It was inspiring to see how discussions around food safety, balanced nutrition, and obesity management were not only thoughtful but action-driven — encouraging everyone to play a part in fostering healthier communities.
The summit opened with the presence of the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, along with other key dignitaries like Shri Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary Health-cum-Commissioner, Food Safety, UT Chandigarh; Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health and Family Welfare, UT Chandigarh; and Mr. Ajay Khanna, MD, Herbalife India. Their presence highlighted how government, industry, and civil society can work together to create lasting change.
One of the key messages from the day was how the Eat Right India movement is transforming the way we think about food. Governor Kataria’s remarks on the need for behavioural change struck a chord with everyone present. He pointed out that it’s not just about policies but about engaging people at every level — families, schools, businesses, and communities — to make smarter, healthier food choices.
The summit was not all discussion-based — it was hands-on and interactive too! One of the highlights was the live culinary demonstration by Chef Vikas Chawla. Watching nutritious food being prepared in creative and accessible ways was a reminder that eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated or boring.
There was also a special segment celebrating inclusivity. Felicitations for specially-abled children alongside insights from community leaders brought home the message that health initiatives must be for everyone — regardless of age or ability.
A session on startup innovation and sustainable wellness solutions added an exciting edge to the event. It was refreshing to see entrepreneurs and innovators sharing ideas on how business models can align with health goals and create long-term impact.
Herbalife’s commitment to supporting such initiatives was evident throughout the event. Mr. Ajay Khanna’s words summed it up beautifully: promoting balanced nutrition, empowering communities, and building a safer food ecosystem isn’t just a goal — it’s a responsibility. Their partnership with FSSAI through the Eat Right Movement and FOSTAC Training Program exemplifies how collaborative efforts can bring real change.
All in all, the Eat Right Food Summit 2025 wasn’t just another event — it was a call to action. It left everyone feeling motivated to take small, practical steps toward healthier eating habits and a more conscious food culture. As we look ahead, it’s clear that when government, industry, and communities come together with purpose, real transformation is possible.
Here’s to healthier choices, better conversations, and a future where eating right is not a challenge — it’s a way of life.
